Hello, marketeers!
I know most of you here are authors, so you’ll be familiar with the terms ‘plotter’ and ‘pantser’. But I’m not referring to the plotters and pantsers of writing. For the purposes of this newsletter, it’s all about marketing. Are you like an executive strategist, or are you a ‘I’ll just wing it as I go’ kind of person? Or maybe you’re a bit of both - a PLOTSER!?

Whatever you choose to be, that’s totally cool.
BUT …
Today, I’m getting you to try on the strategic approach to book marketing. Why? Because …
a strategy can help you assess what’s working well (and what isn’t) - focus on some clear goals and how to achieve them.
your messaging and branding will be clear and consistent - without a strategy you could just be making unnecessary noise (unless you’ve chosen a really catchy tune for your reel, then that’s cool!).
you are targeting your audience in a way that engages them - like, did they ask to see that weird-looking corn chip from lunch? (unless you’ve written a book about weird corn chips, then that’s cool!).
you can make sure you have the necessary resources and/or equipment ready for when you need it (thanks, dodgy old phone - not!).
if you’re really into strategy you’ll know how to assess your KPIs, ROIs, SEOs and other ‘cool’ (or nerdy?) marketing acronyms.
you will not go out of your mind trying to think up content at the last minute.
SO …
How are we going to go about achieving the ‘strategic PLOTTER approach’? (Don’t worry, you can totally chuck in some randoms whenever you like!)
I’m giving you a FREE downloadable BOOK MARKETING PLANNER!

Great post - about to share. I'm a bit of a planner as I always try to get books read and reviewed for tour date or publication date. If they come after, I aim to get them up as soon as I can but I'm less structured there because if they're out, I have some wiggle room. I also hate being overwhelmed with books to review. As for other content, it kind of comes when it comes as I don't always know what I am going to be posting about.
Great post Romi - and love the planner! Have shared!
